The Museum of Stara Zagora has authorised 'This is Stara Zagora' to be the sole independent promoter of Stara Zagora Archaeology.
Stara Zagora has a fascinating history of 8,000 years with roads, dwellings and smaller artifacts of outstanding global archaeological significance. The Municipality of Stara Zagora is constructing a superb new museum to house numerous smaller exhibits. This museum, being built above and around a Roman road, is due for completion and opening in mid 2008.
The Archaeology section of This is Stara Zagora is presently being developed by The Museum of Stara Zagora. We will have detailed information about Stara Zagora's archaeology and link The Museum of Stara Zagora with archaeological bodies around the world. These links will provide a broader understanding of the unique archaeology of Stara Zagora. The Stara Zagora Museum also seeks partners with whom to undertake joint ventures in the field of global archaeology.
